The game, Endzone: Survivor Edition – Survivor Edition (which initially released in 2021), by developer Gentlymad Studios and publisher Assemble Entertainment, was officially released on the Playstation 5 recently in May 2022. This is a city building strategy game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting. These genres of games can be pretty fun for me when I am bored, but also not my first pick to play. I would say that this game is a standard and fun city building game to play.
Gameplay
The gameplay objective of Endzone: A world Apart – Survivor Edition is the same as any city building game, which is for the player to help build their civilization as well as help them survive. When players open the game, they have the option to either jump head on into the game with survival and learn how to play the game as they go or they can play the different tutorials the game has that can help the player get a better idea and help the player strategize a plan on how to help build their civilization (if you are nervous about starting in survival or need a refresher on what important things you need to help survive in the beginning, then I would recommend going to the tutorials).
When players start the game, they will start out with 15 residents. There are 10 adults and five children. The children are pretty much useless at the beginning, so in reality, the player will only have 10 people to help grow their civilization. The player will immediately be able to build the establishments they need to get their civilization off of the ground. The first thing players should build is a Jetty near the closest lake. A Jetty helps the player get water supplies for their civilization. To build the Jetty (and establishments in general) players will need to assign the residents of their civilization as builders. There are a variety of jobs to help the player grow their civilization, so it is important to know what jobs do what. After the player builds the Jetty, the player should build a Water Cistern next. The player should build it closer to the Jetty to make it easier on their residents, which is important because the player doesn’t want their residents to get tired or discouraged. This will help the player’s civilization contain the water supplies they get from the Jetty. The last thing the game would recommend the player builds to get their civilization off the ground is a fishing hut. This will assure that the player has a food supply. Of course, doing these things will only help player’s civilizations survive. After they do all these things, it is up to the player to grow their civilization, and the game offers many ways to help the player do just that.
Final thoughts
Overall, the game Endzone: A world Apart – Survivor Edition is a fun and standard civilization game. This game is made very well, especially on the Playstation 5. If you are the kind of person that enjoys these kinds of civilization games, then I would recommend adding this game to your collection. Players can buy this game on the Playstation store for Playstation 5 as well as other platforms.
