My 2024 Video Game Wish List Part I

Up first on the list is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. To be honest, I’m just as disappointed as the rest of the Prince of Persia fans that we aren’t getting the Sands of Time Remake that was promised. It’s unclear why we aren’t, but I must admit that this game looks fun, and that’s all that really matters at the end of the day.

Next up on the list is The Last of Us Part II Remastered. I can already hear the haters from here. I know, I know. However, there aren’t many times you get a remaster of a game that includes lost levels, and a brand new playable game mode. Just remember that Nintendo re-released Mario Bros. on the SNES back in the 90s. This isn’t anything new. Not to mention, you can follow the upgrade path and only pay $10 on its release date of January 19th.

The next game on my list is Helldivers II. I didn’t get into the first one all that much, but this one changes from an isometric camera view to full on 3rd-person-shooter. Joining up with friends and shooting aliens is always a good time. It will be priced at $39.99 on day one, and cross-platform play will be available with PS5 and PC on February 8th.

After that is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The first part of Final Fantasy VII was an excellent game. The side quests weren’t anything to write home about, but everything else was top-notch. This entry looks to be bigger and better in every way. It’s due to come out on February 29th.

This next game is on here purely out of nostalgia. South Park: Snow Day. If you’re unaware, Snow Day was the first South Park game ever released, way back in 1998. It was then just titled South Park. However, it only consisted of snow ball fighting from the first person angle. This game looks to take the nostalgia to the next level and deliver something fun. It does have big shoes to fill, not because the first one was so good (it wasn’t) but because the newest South Park games were. It’s dated for March 26th on all modern consoles and PCs.

I was born and raised in a town so small there were more cows than people. I joined the USAF as soon as I could, and I currently reside in San Antonio. I am a singer/songwriter on the side, but I've been a gamer since birth. I grew up with PlayStation and Nintendo, though, I don't discriminate between consoles and PC. I have a PC with a 3080, Steam Deck, and a PS5.
