Underground Garage Preview for Steam Early Access

Introduction/Information about Underground Garage

The game Underground Garage is a game that recently released its early access on November 7th on Steam. This game is a simulation game where players will be able to create and customize their own cars and drive them around in a world filled with different challenges. I do not primarily enjoy most of what the simulation genre has to offer. While I appreciate and respect them, they are just not my kind of games. When I started playing Underground Garage, however, I noticed and felt I was having more fun with the simulator than I usually do when playing simulation games. Of course, my favorite part of the game was driving with what I made, which was fast and fun (even if I crashed into everything). After playing Underground Garage, I would say this game is a well thought out simulation game that is on the right track for development through early access.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Underground Garage consists of mechanic simulation and driving through the streets. When players start the game, they will be introduced to the simulation side of the game, where they will be taught how to fix and customize cars to extreme levels. Upon starting, players will first get a few simple tasks. These tasks mostly consist of repairs of broken parts, replacing them, or customizing cars to get better on the race track. Players will start out with smaller jobs as they work their way to more difficult ones. What I enjoyed about messing around with this part of the game is how it seemed every part of the car could be affected. From brakes to engine parts to even the exhaust, the player will either fix, modify, or even upgrade them. Of course, most of these repairs and upgrades will cost money on the player’s end, but as long as they do everything right, the profit they will get after will make up for it. Once players fix the car, they will need to drive it to the delivery point. That being said, I decided to mess around with driving the car instead. The driving in the game felt really fun and fast. I think the only issue I’ve had is controlling the car (mainly because I would go too fast). Depending on how players upgrade their car, they can go to newbound speeds, so I recommend players mess around with all different kinds of combinations for cars.

Final thoughts

Overall, I believe Underground Garage is a fun, well made simulation game that is on the right track for their development through early access. As I mentioned before, simulation games are not my favorite genre of games to play. However, I seemed to have more fun playing Underground Garage than many other simulation games I’ve played in the past. I did enjoy being able to disassemble and customize cars, and it was even more fun taking those cars out for a test drive. If you are the kind of player who enjoys simulation games, car customization, and street racing, then I would recommend getting this game. Players can get this game via Steam Early Access now. Players who wish to get this game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be able to get this game some time next year 2025.
