This year is off to a great start for Wargaming, the publisher and developer of the popular naval battle MMO World of Warships. A special edition of Operations, featuring a brand-new, deadly opponent known as Flagships, kicks off the first update of 2025. Along with a special Event Pass, three chapters covering the epic Bjorn’s Ballad Adventure with a Commander up for grabs, and even more Combat Missions full of goodies to start the year off in style, this update also brings Early Access to Dutch Cruisers.

Six Special Operations Make an Unexpected Arrival
High-tier ship operations, which will operate alongside regular operations as a distinct conflict type, are sailing into the game from January 9 to February 6. Players who are bold enough to take on these trials will be presented with new obstacles. The flagships, which serve as squadron leaders for their fleet and have a lot more hit points than regular vessels to withstand tactical efforts, are a new and dangerous enemy in these special operations.
On the high seas, players will have to outmaneuver three flagships, each with unique talents and abilities, in order to defeat the odds. By increasing their likelihood of setting fires, the Incendiary Specialist increases the danger of their teammates while also increasing their own vulnerability to fires. Allies benefit from Torpedo Master’s increased torpedo reload speed, but it also makes them vulnerable to torpedo damage. Lastly, Iron Fist equips teammates with unique shells that have improved armor penetration and grants them a speed boost. Nevertheless, Iron Fist will harm all adjacent ships after it is destroyed.
One of the three flagships will search the waters for prey throughout the first three weeks of the update, and the final challenge will bring the three together in the fourth week.
Early Access Dutch Cruisers Drop Anchor
Dutch cruisers also bring ships with 128mm guns, enhanced high explosive shell penetration and armor piercing shell damage, long-range Airstrike, Engine Boost, and fast-cooling Repair Party consumables to Early Access, which runs from January 9 to March 6. The Tier VIII cruiser Jaarsveld, the Tier IX cruiser Menno Van Coehoorn, and the Tier X cruiser Ultrecht are all part of the new ship line. Jaarsveld and other permanent camouflages for usage on the new cruiser line are also included in the brand-new Event Pass.
In the Bjorn’s Ballad Adventure, Fight With a Legendary Sea Wolf
Players will embark on a brand-new adventure with Bjorn’s Ballad Adventure, which launches on January 16 and ends on February 6. Players will join the legendary warrior who has gone to the most remote regions of the world and battled fearsome sea creatures. This new adventure will span three chapters, each with both standard and advanced missions, and will take players on an epic journey over multiple fantastical locales. Get Commander Bjorn Stormbreaker, which has six skill points, Forsaken Chest Containers, and a special discount on themed packages by finishing these exciting chapters.
A new season of Brawls, the continuing of the Hamburg Dockyard, the return of the Creatorverse collaboration, and much more are included in the most recent update to help players get started on a new year in World of Warships.
