The Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 Schedule and Program Details Revealed

The Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 schedule and program information were revealed today by Warner Bros. Games, NetherRealm Studios, and RTS. This marks the return of the worldwide esports program that features Mortal Kombat 1. In addition to several online tournaments, kombatants of all ranks will have the opportunity to compete for a share of the $255,000 USD prize pool in a number of live, in-person events throughout North America, Latin America, South America, and Europe.

Pro Kompetition Mexico, an in-person competition held in Mexico City on February 22, will kick off Season 2, while the Final Kombat World Championship, which is set for September 2025, will mark the program’s conclusion. The Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 teaser was unveiled, including both the forthcoming guest fighters, Conan the Barbarian and T-1000 Terminator, as well as highlights from previous events. Owners of the Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Expansion will get early access to Conan the Barbarian on January 21. On January 28, the game will be made widely available. When Season 2 starts, players will be able to utilize the towering warrior from the 1982 movie Conan the Barbarian, which features actor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness as the titular character. Tomorrow’s Kombat Kast will feature the official Conan the Barbarian gameplay trailer, which will provide fans with more information on this formidable combatant. The Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 Schedule and Program Details Revealed

There will be four distinct routes to the Final Kombat World Championship. Players can earn points toward their worldwide leaderboard ranking in ten in-person tournaments featuring one-on-one double-elimination brackets. A position in Final Kombat will be awarded to the top eight players with the most leaderboard points from live competitions.

Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition in-person events feature:

  • Pro Kompetition Mexico – Mexico City, Mex. (Feb. 22-23)
  • Viennality – Vienna, Austria (March 1-2)
  • Texas Showdown – Houston, Texas (March 28-30)
  • gamescom latam – São Paulo, Brazil (May 1-4)
  • Combo Breaker – Chicago, Ill. (May 23-25)
  • CEO Fighting Game Championships – Orlando, Fla. (June 13-15)
  • Brussels Challenge – Brussels, Belgium (Spring/Summer 2025)
  • Evo 2025 – Las Vegas, Nev. (Aug. 1-3)
  • Blink Respawn – Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (Summer 2025)
  • VSFighting – Birmingham, U.K. (Summer/Fall 2025)

Additionally, the winner of Evo’s Pro Kompetition event will be immediately eligible to compete in Final Kombat.

The North American League (North America East and North America West), InterKontinental Kombat (Europe East, Europe West, Oceanic, and Middle East), and Liga Latina (Brazil, Mexico, South America North, and South America South) are among the divisions and sub-divisions of online Pro Kompetition tournaments that allow players to compete based on their location. Ten online players—two from the North American League, four from InterKontinental Kombat, and four from Liga Latina—will earn a berth in Final Kombat through two online qualifier events and one online regional final for each regional division. There will be no points awarded for participation in online competitions toward the global leaderboard. To increase their rating on the leaderboard, players need to take part in any one of the ten live events.

The victor of the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) event, an open in-person competition that will take place at the Final Kombat location, will receive the remaining finals spot. The 20-player field competition in Final Kombat will be completed by the LCQ winner.

In Final Kombat, all 20 players will compete in a round-robin format after being divided into four groups of five. With all players starting from the winner’s side, the top two players from each group—a total of eight players—will move on to the final bracket and compete in a double-elimination format. The Final Kombat World Champion will be the victor of the last bracket. Final Kombat’s precise time and venue will be announced later.

With over 100 hours of live competition spread over 20 days, the Pro Kompetition will give spectators the opportunity to witness all of the elite matchups and intense confrontations. which can be viewed at Twitch.tv/NetherRealm, YouTube.com/MortalKombat, and Facebook.com/MortalKombat.

Participants in the Pro Kompetition will have the chance to compete against characters from Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, the most recent expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, the most recent game in the critically acclaimed videogame series created by the award-winning NetherRealm Studios. In addition to a story expansion featuring playable fighters Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian (available starting January 21), and T-1000 Terminator (release date to be announced), Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is currently available digitally for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
