The Donkey Kong Bananza game, which is only accessible for the Nintendo Switch 2 system and is currently available at participating shops, the My Nintendo Store, and Nintendo eShop, finally features Donkey Kong and Pauline—and you can play too. Fans may join in on the action by visiting the in-store launch events scheduled for July 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. local time at Nintendo NEW YORK and Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO, where the game is also available.

With (literally) groundbreaking gameplay, a variety of potent transformations, and an abundance of opportunities to let your inner Kong wild, Donkey Kong Bananza is a brand-new 3D platforming action adventure that stars Donkey Kong and a gifted young vocalist named Pauline. Come along with the two as they explore the depths of the earth and learn that there is much more to this underground realm than meets the eye. As you travel through the world’s layers to reach the Planet Core, you will come across landscapes like chilly tundra, lush woods, and dry canyons.
However, because the evil Void Company is in their way, the unusual pair’s quest won’t be an easy one. Every layer of the world is affected by this evil mining activity, which also has its sights set on the planet core. In order to overcome the obstacles in this exciting journey, Pauline and Donkey Kong will need to cooperate and utilize all of their skills!
Donkey Kong Bananza Key Features:
- Explore the expansive Underground World by smashing your way through it using Donkey Kong’s awesome abilities! The more you bash, the more regions become available to you. Crash past adversaries and barriers, even uncovering discoveries and collectibles.
- Pauline may boost Donkey Kong by using her singing to change him into forms with unique skills. Give DK incredible strength with Kong Bananza, speed with Zebra Bananza, and the ability to glide briefly with Ostrich Bananza!
- Explore in two-player cooperative mode with a companion. While one player can take on the role of Pauline and unleash her vocal blasts, another player can take on the role of Donkey Kong and participate in some constructive devastation to open up new places or pave a path.
- Even if they don’t own the game, players can use GameShare1 to play cooperatively with another player locally (using two Switch 2 systems or a Switch 2 system hosting a Switch system). You can now use GameChat2 to invite friends with Nintendo Switch 2s to participate in an online gaming session using voice or video chat.
Also available right now is an amiibo figure of Pauline and Donkey Kong. Pauline’s in-game Diva Dress attire can be unlocked early by scanning the amiibo. You can also drop some explosive KONG tiles.
