Directive 8020, the sci-fi survival horror narrative adventure developed by Supermassive Games, will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on May 12, 2026. Both digital and physical versions of the game will be available; pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are currently open, while PC (Steam) will only be available digitally, with Steam digital pre-orders on the horizon. A complimentary Deluxe Edition upgrade is offered to pre-orderers (while retail inventories last). Fans may now view the brand-new “Comply” pre-order trailer in celebration of the announcement!
Every Decision Has Repercussions
The paranoid decision-making of Directive 8020, where trust is brittle and every decision has the potential to be fatal, is examined in the Comply Pre-Order Trailer.
- Choice-Based Gameplay: As her crewmate Mitchell begs for her freedom from behind a sealed door, Cooper, the ship’s medic, is driven by paranoia and must make a difficult choice. Cooper must make a tough choice since he is unsure about his humanity. A fundamental tenet of Directive 8020 is highlighted by this instance: never put your trust in anyone since everything you do has repercussions.
- The “Double” Reveal: Cooper can now own the gun in place of Commander Stafford due to the way the game forks and your prior choices. You have to decide which of the two identical versions of Cernan (the ship’s engineer) is the impostor and who you let rejoin the crew. One decision will be lethal.
- Planetary Exploration: The trailer previews on-planet gameplay for the first time, revealing Tau Ceti f’s harsh, alien environment.
- Talent & Track: The song “Comply” from Brighton-based band Blood Red Shoes plays in the teaser, which stars Lashana Lynch as pilot Brianna Young.
