Just in time for Pokémon Day on February 27, the Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version games will be available on the Nintendo Switch systems for the first time in over 20 years. This will allow you to capture wild Pokémon and relive the nostalgic feel of the Game Boy Advance system.

The My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop offer each of these digital-only titles separately in English, French, or Spanish1. By exploring the Kanto region and reuniting with some of their favorite Pokémon and characters in their original settings, gamers, both new and old, can celebrate 30 years of Pokémon. While novices can witness some of the first appearances of classic characters and locales, longtime fans will love traveling back to the beginning.
Players can interact with the original 151 Pokémon in the 2004 remakes of the initial Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, which were first released in Japan in 1996. These versions are available for the Nintendo Switch. Savor the timeless melody and turn-based gameplay while running into Brock, Misty, Professor Oak, and Giovanni, among other well-known characters! All of the upgrades that were made during the Game Boy Advance era are included in these vintage RPGs, including the ability to choose the gender of your player character as well as talents, natures, weather, and held goods. Now, instead of using a Game Link Cable like they did in 2004, Nintendo Switch users can connect with pals through local co-op2.
Prepare to enjoy Kanto’s joys and trials for the first time—or for the first time in a long time!
On February 27, the English, French and Spanish versions of Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen will be made available for the Nintendo Switch on My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop. During launch week, a few retailers will also carry the titles, with a suggested retail price of $19.99 (USD). Please visit Nintendo.com to learn more about these products.
