BenQ’s Newest RevolutionEyes™ RL and XL Series Gaming Monitors to Take Center Stage During MLG 2015 Pro Circuit Season
COSTA MESA, Calif. — Jan. 15, 2015 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned digital lifestyle solutions provider and professional gaming monitor pioneer, today announced its support of global eSports leader Major League Gaming (MLG) by becoming the official gaming monitor sponsor for the 2015 MLG Pro Circuit Season. Engineered to create the ultimate gaming experience, the company’s RL and XL monitors provide first-person shooter (FPS) and real-time strategy (RTS) players with more speed, accuracy, and onscreen visibility to conQuer today’s most popular games.
“We’re looking forward to the 2015 MLG Pro Circuit as well as supporting prominent players from all over the world,” said Bob Wudeck, Associate Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at BenQ America Corp. “This is a great opportunity to show our commitment to the gaming community with our professional monitors. Our RL and XL series have been purpose-built to enhance both the console and PC gaming experience and feature BenQ’s exclusive innovations that meet the unique demands of eSports players. We can’t wait to see our displays in action throughout the year’s MLG events.”
The MLG 2015 Pro Circuit Season kicks off on Jan. 23 with the 2015 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado, where top pro gamers from around the world will compete on BenQ’s RL2460HT and XL2430T displays — the official console and PC gaming monitors of MLG, respectively. Created specifically for professional gaming, BenQ’s award-winning line of monitors are engineered with enhancements that meet the precise needs of eSports athletes, delivering an elevated player experience for games such as the tournament’s Counter-Strike®: Global Offensive (CS: GO).
BenQ’s new XL2730Z monitor features 27 inches of 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution, a TN panel, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms GTG response time, and Gaming Refresh-rate Optimization Management (GROM), making it the ideal choice for PC gaming. Supporting Adaptive-Sync variable refresh-rate technology with AMD’s FreeSync graphics card, the XL2730Z gives players the freedom to customize their gaming experience by tweaking viewing preferences including refresh rates, display resolutions, and screen sizes. For even greater gaming comfort, the fast-action RevolutionEyes™ monitor features ZeroFlicker™ technology to eliminate backlight flickering as well as low blue light technology to allow gamers to engage in longer, more comfortable playing sessions. The XL2730Z is also equipped with BenQ’s Black Equalizer 2.0, Motion Blur Reduction 2.0, and an Auto Game Mode that automatically detects and adjusts to the genre of the game being played. Additionally, a new Game-to-Go Mode allows gamers to save game modes onto a USB flash drive for perfect display tuning, even on the go.
Created using feedback from professional gamers, BenQ’s all-new 27-inch RL2755HM monitor is designed for FPS and fighting console gaming, providing an ultra-low input lag that renders action without ghosting or latency from mouse motion. Equipped with a blazing-fast 1ms GTG response time, the monitor comes equipped with 2-watt stereo speakers and dual HDMI® ports to provide FHD connectivity with gaming consoles, as well as enabling live streaming of gaming content without any risk of lag. For an even faster response, the RL2755HM features a 60Hz refresh rate tuned to match any console video output for fluid connectivity, LED backlighting for fly-off-the-screen color, and a 12 million to 1 contrast ratio for even more amazing picture quality.
The MLG gaming tournament at the Winter X Games in Aspen will bring together the top eight CS: GO teams from North America, Europe, and Brazil to compete in a three-day contest worth $50,000 in prizes. Streamed live over MLG.tv with highlights airing on ESPN, ABC, as well as X Games’ digital and social platforms, the invitational gaming tournament will be showcased amongst the best in action sports as hundreds of the world’s finest winter athletes also compete in skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobile events. In addition to prize money, the gaming competition’s eSports athletes will be competing for gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The new BenQ RL2755HM and XL2730Z gaming monitors start shipping in late Q1 2015. Additional information on the 2015 MLG Pro Circuit Season can be found at www.majorleaguegaming.com. Information on the full line of BenQ gaming monitors is available at gaming.benq.com.
