Helsinki, Finland – Epic Owl Ltd., an independent Finnish game studio, formed by a group of former Rovio employees, announced today that its debut title, Starside Arena, which was launched in the App Store on November 10th is now also available globally on the Google Play store as a free download. As of today, both iOS and Android players worldwide can participate in epic battles to win glorious rewards in this dynamically changing, futuristic world with a limitless range of creative options to make the ultimate battle ship of their own.
The world of Starside Arena is populated by player-made ships. This results in a constantly evolving metagame where weak designs fall into obscurity and the best ones rise to dominance until they are overthrown by other players who discover the perfect counter design.
“We’re ecstatic to be launching Starside Arena on the Android platform, as we know that Android players especially will find our retro style space battler appealing. It has been very exciting to follow Starside Arena’s download charts and we are happy that the game has been positively received by the players with an average rating of 4.6 out of five stars,” said Juha Vainio, CEO of Epic Owl. “The positive feedback from the players is very encouraging. The players have already created almost 70 000 ships and we can’t wait to see what kind of epic spacecrafts the Android players around the world will design!”
