Water Planet Review for PC

Water Planet, by publisher The Revera Corporation and developer VIRGO, is a walking simulator that takes place on a planet made of water and ice. In the game, you walk around and gather crystals and . . .  well, that’s the game.

Water Planet does try to tell a story during the time you are walking around, but it feels, well incomplete. Your spaceship has to stop at this planet to get energy crystals to refuel. While you’re on the planet, you learn a bit about its history before you visited the planet, and then the planet’s problems are suddenly fixed without much of an explanation as to how they were fixed.

Water Planet itself is only about an hour long. During that time, you walk/swim to a point marked on the screen to either pick up a crystal or push a button. That is literally all there is to the gameplay.

Overall, I found Water Planet rather boring, but I understand that there are people that like this type of game. As a walking simulator, I would give it a 6/10. I would also recommend that people who aren’t into walking simulators to stay away from this game.

Water Planet is available for PC via Steam. While VR is not mandatory to play, it is highly recommended.
