CUPHEAD Developer iLLOGIKA Reveals its Virtual Reality R&D Projects

Established Montreal based independent developer  iLLOGIKA, recognized for its work on Cuphead, Lara Croft Go, Hitman Go VR, Disney Infinity Action, Time Machine VR and The Other Room, has announced that their latest VR research & development efforts, culminated into the creation of 2 playable prototypes. With both FlickBlocks and Air Punch, available now to download for free on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, iLLOGIKA is highlighting its commitment to the production of Virtual Reality development tools and demonstrates its latest VR platform achievements in animation pipeline, texturing and destruction tools.

Air Punch is a VR demo exploring a new locomotion technique using punches called Punch Dash. Air Punch allows dynamic 6 degrees of freedom movement while mitigating the motion sickness issues usually found in VR. Explore and punch your way through 5 different arenas in Air Punch available for free on itch.io. More information on the Punch Dash concept can be found here.

Inspired by classic tabletop game such as Jenga, FlickBlocks mixes traditional puzzle gameplay with Virtual Reality to create a high intensity action and strategy experience. FlickBlocks showcases iLLOGIKA’s ability to develop block construction based game design with remarkable accurate physics in a Virtual Reality environment. The game prototype is published on itch.io for all to enjoy.
