The scandal is juicy, the drama, electrifying, and the romance can be positively wild! Life in 18th century Paris, France was a constant rollercoaster of trying to survive, keeping up with the trends, and staying on the good side of the powerful. Developed by Joy Manufacturing Co. and published by Iceberg Initiative, Ambition: A Minuet in Power takes you into the salacious Parisian world of power and wealth. It’s not easy to become the new “It Girl” but play your cards right and you can have anyone eating from the palm of your hand.
Life was supposed to be different for Yvette when she agreed to marry Baron Armand de Marbo. From the humble beginnings of the countryside, moving to Paris was the next big chapter in her life and she couldn’t have been more ready to start it with her handsome fiancé. Only trouble is that he is nowhere to be found and has barely left a breadcrumb for Yvette to follow. Sensing fresh meat in the water, the more unsavory crowd of Paris don’t hesitate to remind Yvette that she doesn’t belong among the elites. Unluckily for them, Yvette is a plucky woman and despite marrying into her title, she is now a baroness. She has every right to be at their parties and their gatherings, and nothing is stopping her from reaching the top.
With little money and credibility to her name, Yvette must start from the bottom and keep her place among the crowd. Listening and selling gossip, avoiding perilous decisions, and using her wits to navigate conversations is a slow process, but important to master. Especially due to the quickly evolving political nature of France; the time of Revolution is inevitable. Saying inflammatory accusations or peddling the wrong information can quickly land Yvette in the hot seat. If too many bridges are burned, and all favors are lost, not even one’s wealth could save them from a gruesome end. The French are well-known for staying in fashion and guillotines were quite popular in this time period.
Leaving Yvette alone in the big city and to fend for herself from the proverbial wolves, has her questioning if her fiancé truly cares for her. If he loves her, he would’ve been by her side instead of galivanting away, becoming an enigma for her to try and solve. Good thing there are plenty of bachelors and bachelorettes willing to help this damsel in distress. Each possible love interest has an affiliation with either the bourgeoisie, the crown, the church, the revolution, or the military. Keeping track of what they are attracted to will help this heroine gain more of their favor and possibly even as a new love interest.
Yvette Decaux wanted a new start to her life and she most certainly got it. Despite the mysterious circumstances of her missing fiancé, she’s going to make the best of her situation, even if it could mean getting her hands a little dirty. Be utterly ruthless or a fair lady of class, whatever you chose to be in this chose your own adventure is entirely up to you. You can’t please everyone, and enemies will be made along the way. It’s who becomes your ally is what’s important and what will be saving your neck in the long run.

PROS: Lovely art, fascinating characters, good playability, and intriguing storyline.
CONS: Needs more options to lessen peril and too easy to lose credibility just by exhaustion.

If my hands aren't either covered in clay, typing, editing, creating, or helping shoving food in my mouth, they would either be gripped to a controller, tapping away at the screen of my phone, or clicking away on my PC. I am always up for trying something new because why live just one life when you can live many.
