October 3,2016 – Following its success as a top-selling title on Oculus Rift, virtual reality specialist nDreams will be releasing their interactive story The Assembly as a launch title for PlayStation®VR.
The Assembly will be available to download from the PlayStation Store for $29.99 / €24.99 / £19.99 on Thursday, October 13th.
Given nDream’s fondly remembered history on PlayStation Home, in many ways this release of the UK-based studio’s first major title for high-end VR feels like coming home.
The Assembly is an immersive, interactive story in first-person VR inspired by real-world anxieties. The game centres around the eponymous Assembly, an enigmatic collective that has hidden itself from the world so as to conduct its experiments outside the constraints of government scrutiny and society’s morals. But what secrets is it hiding? What will it sacrifice in the name of progress? That’s for players to discover by taking on the role of two different protagonists, who both have the chance to shake the foundations of this mysterious organisation.
The Assembly has been designed to be an accessible introduction to virtual reality. The game includes a player-tested control scheme built to ensure comfort with the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller, enabling players to explore environments without ever leaving their chair and as comfortably as in a flatscreen first-person game.
