If you are looking for a fun game to play with your friend, significant other, or sibling; look no further, Biped is here! Developed by NEXT Studios and published by Postmeta Games, this game focuses around two adorable little robots that are controlled by each player. These robots rely on physics to move around, in the sense that they feel real and a lot of the gameplay is focused around moving them around. The puzzles are really focused on communication, something that the developers mention as “moment to moment” gameplay, and I found this to hold strong while playing with my siblings during this quarantine. This co-op requires a lot of communication, which in my opinion, always makes game nights more fun!
Biped could be played solo, as I have read, but honestly, the fun and the charm for me is definitely playing it on the couch with someone else. It makes the puzzles more engaging and fun. I also really think that the Switch is the perfect place for a game such as this—the features of the switch makes it a perfect couch game, and really hearkened back to me to old-school co-op on the Gamecube or Playstation 2, fighting to get a chance on the controller. It was awesome. Biped made us laugh with all the crazy antics and the silly movements the robots did. As I understand it, online play will be available with a Nintendo Switch Online membership to individuals who are still quarantining during this crazy time or have friends and loved ones far a way from them. There are many ways to enjoy this game.
And did I mention the robots are sooo adorable? They are really cute, and the graphics are bright and clean and fun. The music is adorable, doesn’t do too much that you are tempted to turn it off, and really adds to the gameplay. The game itself is really short, it can be completed in about 2-3 hours. To some, this can be a deterrent, but I personally found Biped to be the perfect length. It’s something you can complete in one night with a loved one, so it really makes sense and you don’t have to deal with the awkwardness of finding more time in everyone’s busy schedules. Besides, as I am sure you have as large as a backlog as I do, it feels really good to start and finish a game. In general, I found Biped to be satisfying in general. Not only in length, but in gameplay as well. Movement, while difficult to pick up at first, became very satisfying in the first 30 minutes. The puzzles were also interesting to explore and satisfying to solve. The game plays just wonderfully and performs fantastically on the switch.
Biped hits the Switch tomorrow, July 2nd, and will be available for $14.99. It is a little bit of a steep price for such a short game, but one I think is genuinely worth it. Biped and a pizza would be a fantastic date night for couples, even if one individual is less experienced than the other in terms of playing games because the controls are easy to figure out. It would also make a great afternoon of bonding with family members or friends. However, for solo play, I’m just not sure if this is a game I could justify spending $14.99 on. So really it depends on what your situation is here. I would recommend its co-op mode wholeheartedly.

Nintendo Switch Review
I am a senior studying History at the University of Michigan. I've been playing video games since I was very young and around age 16 I had become entirely obsessed with the medium. I hope to one day work in the industry in any way I can.
