Good day mates! I have got a question for all of you: When you heard the title of the video game that I am currently reviewing, what came to your mind initially? Where you thinking of a game like For Honor? Or, maybe something like Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag?
Well, if you thought any of those, Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing is not really like that. I was surprised by this when I looked into what the game was about.
However, before that is done, we have to take a look at the developers and/or publishers of the game. It’s important to learn about the people who made the games, because that can come in handy sometimes.
The developer of the game is also the publisher. The company who has made the game is called Tribetoy, an interesting name, isn’t it?
There’s not too much history for the Tribe, but I can say that they have made another game, which is exactly what I love to see in a game! You can take a look at what the game is about on the link to their website here.
The way the company sees itself as a Tribe reminds me of another game company that sees itself like a clan or anything along those lines, which is another story. Now, onto the tales of Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing!
In Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing, you play as the mysterious but honorable, Freelancer. You are a captain of a flying vessel that is powered by your body, your “lifeline” (or your blood. You are partaking in a competition that is like a gameshow (anyone getting Total Drama vibes?), where you can must do challenges like destroying certain asteroids known as “splinter cells” to obtain prizes (or in this case points) to boost yourself up and forward in the competition, locate certain treasures until you get a key that allows you to warp out of there (if you want to or if you find yourself in a pickle) and then find yourself trying to defeat an insanely powered alien machine, all the while you’re trying not to get destroyed by a rival vessel that is also competing with you in that match. At the end of the matches, you and the other competitors are ranked by how much points were earned in the duration, along with the survival bonus added for those who didn’t get annihilated.
Now that I provided an adequate summary of what the game is, I will now tell you my experiences with the game and how far I got.
Now, my first time playing the game… wasn’t so graceful as the other times. Was it as bad as that first game that I am not going to mention? Not at all. It was bumpy, but I got better at it.
Remember what I said about Total Drama vibes? Well, of course there are the challenges, but there is one MAJOR thing you must do besides those challenges: make friends with some of the other captains and betray others! In my first run, to put it simply, I befriended the wrong captains and got voted out after the second Culling, the elimination ceremony.
However, the second time, I made the right friends that time and haven’t gotten eliminated yet.
Now, what is my carefully crafted subjective viewpoint on this game?
Well, one thing I forgot to mention is one glaring issue when I played the game on the PS4: the game screen size was too large, making it zoomed in too much that I couldn’t see certain things like the health of the vessel! Worse, I tried to see if there was a setting to adjust the screen size, but there wasn’t any at all.
Another issue is that the game didn’t do too much of a swell job on explaining how to use the special weapons or other necessary controls to survive the game.
Am I saying to all of you to not buy the game? NOT AT ALL! The game is a joy to play, but I would have enjoyed it more if the developers fixed those two issues.
With all of that said and done, it is time for me to give my score of the game. I give Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing a score of 8.5/10.
Welp, that is all. See you guys in the next review!

PlayStation 4 Review
I'm the kind of guy who LOVES games with rich storytelling elements, but still finds enjoyment in the other games that don't have those. I am always intrigued by how new and upcoming game developers either bring something new to the table or take something existing and bring an exhilarating twist to it.
