Capcom unveiled two exciting launch games for the eagerly awaited Nintendo Switch 2 during today’s Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 – 4.2.2025 presentation. These titles are Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, which will be available on June 5, 2025! With new gameplay options, an intriguing new mode, and more, Street Fighter 6 is bringing its famous action-packed battles to the newest Nintendo platform! In the meantime, the highly regarded Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess puts the engrossing tale of the Kami in the hands of players with innovative features. Both games will be completely recreated for players to experience and explore on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Street Fighter 6 to bring Serious Competition to the Nintendo Switch 2!
With the release of Street Fighter 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2, Capcom’s legendary fighting game franchise is prepared to take to the streets once more! Fighters will be able to enjoy all the heart-pounding action and exhilarating fighting while on the go when it launches on June 5, 2025. Prepare to get into a battle anywhere, at any time, and experience the next level of intense street fighting competition, regardless of your degree of experience.
New Features and Modes for All Fighters:
- Local Wireless Match – Using Local Wireless mode, One on One puts all of your favorite Street Fighter 6 characters front and center for intense fights against any opponent! Put your abilities to the test in thrilling showdowns with pals who also own the Nintendo Switch 2.
- Local Avatar Match – With the recent addition of Avatar Matches in Local Wireless mode, you may bring your customized fighter to life. Use the new movements you’ve learned along the way while playing as your personalized World Tour avatar.
Unique and Fun Ways to Battle with Friends:
- Tabletop Mode – Enjoy Street Fighter 6 in tabletop mode and share the thrill with others via the Joy-Con. The Joy-Con 2 has been set up with classic, modern, and dynamic control kinds, so it’s the ideal platform to compete anyplace.
- Gyro Battle – Prepare to be shocked by Gyro Battles. Using dynamic motion controls and the Joy-Cons, two players can engage in combat while adhering to the same regulations as one-on-one games.
- Calorie Contest – In the Street Fighter 6 Calorie Contest Mode, step it up! Players can use their Joy-Cons to execute a variety of tasks, including landing attacks and performing Super Arts that will increase Calorie Gauges, thanks to this inventive and entertaining twist. It is a competition that tests your stamina and strength!
Collectible amiibo and amiibo Cards
- New amiibo Figures and Cards – Street Fighter 6 will be launching collectible amiibo figures of popular characters, such as Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly, concurrently with the Nintendo Switch 2’s release. Additionally, the Starter Pack, which includes all 22 characters from Street Fighter 6 through Year 1, offers collectible amiibo cards. In the future, booster packs featuring fresh designs and characters will also be accessible. You can unlock exclusive in-game content by loading these amiibo figures and cards into the game.
- Customizable amiibo Figures and Cards –Amiibo interactions allow you to further customize your experience. Personalize and store your character’s attire and button configurations for the amiibo cards and figures, then import them right into the game. For even more enjoyment, you can use the Super Smash Bros. Ryu and Ken amiibo figures.
- Rewards –A variety of unique gifts are unlocked with each figure and card you collect, including the Ryu and Ken amiibo figures from Super Smash Bros. Character-specific photo frames and device backgrounds are included for both amiibo figures and cards. Additionally, exclusive BGM, device wallpaper, and photo frames will be given to owners of Amiibo figures!
The Perfect Way to Play for the New Edition
On June 5, 2025, the Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition will be accessible on all platforms, including the new Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The characters and stages from Years 1 and 2 are included in this edition, for a total of 26 characters, including Outfit 1, Colors 3–10, and 20 stages. The Nintendo Switch 2 will also get the Standard Edition!
