COOKING SIMULATOR Review for Steam

COOKING SIMULATOR Review for Steam

If you’re a fan of cooking or making a mess in general, then this is certainly a game for you. Cooking Simulator by developer Big Cheese Studio and publisher PlayWay is basically the intense adult version of Cooking Mama…except there is no mama and you are responsible for everything you destroy.

I’m not going to lie, as soon as I saw all the flammable equipment, I wanted to see how much damage I could cause in the kitchen and by the gods did I do some damage! I ended up setting the kitchen on fire and having to replace a lot of equipment afterwards. So, if you were wondering if you could cause any realistic damage, there’s your answer.

COOKING SIMULATOR Review for Steam

The developers were very thorough in their research as to what needs to be in an industrial kitchen – too thorough I might add. The kitchen is very detailed and has fryers, big counters, grills, knives, blenders, racks, you name it. The kitchen is way too big so it’s unrealistic; Carls Jr. should take notes.

Cooking Simulator has over 60 recipes you can complete, and they added a skill mechanic to the game so you can get perks and rewards. There’s no actual story involved; it’s a simulation game and the tutorials are easy and break down what to do. We are told in the beginning that you are in charge of restoring the restaurant to its former glory, so go off of that. Cooking, cleaning, and preparing meals is all a part of the game and the ingredients listed are actually how they are in real life. Things pick up as it gets busier in the game and you must keep track of any equipment that breaks down or maybe you didn’t prep enough meals to last you through the challenges. There are 5 meals you need to complete each day and I advise you don’t spend too much time lollygagging and destroying equipment or messing up meals because the food you buy and the things you need to replace are expensive.

This game would totally benefit from having multiplayer as there’s a lot of damage you could do with friends and it’ll give you that Hell’s Kitchen experience and question as to why you chose the chef lifestyle in the first place. The graphics are great, the recipes look delicious, the game runs smoothly except for a few minor bugs like a knife getting stuck on the wall but overall a great game. I give Cooking Simulator an 8/10.

Hello there, I got into video games at a very young age and my first console was actually the Super Nintendo, I still have it to this day and have quite a collection of games for it. I play a lot of games ranging from different genres like fighting games, i.e Tekken and Street Fighter, RPG's i.e Dark Souls and Final Fantasy, side-scrollers, visual novels, MMO's, Shooters, and Horror. The more violent and story drove the better!. But, as I mentioned before my range for videogame genres has no bounds, I'll play anything as long as it's fun!
