Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros., has revealed in an interview that he would like for some level of customization to be available in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Sakurai also noted that the development team had to be careful so that one character was not so much stronger than another character. You can read his full quote about customization below:
“We’re planning for a level of customization to some degree and in some form. It’s not completely decided at this point. But it’s very important to point out that we do this in a careful way that doesn’t affect the strength and balance of the characters. One thing we’d like to do is to be able to customize the direction of attacks. But not give characters a stronger jump or a stronger or weaker attack. You can consider customizations like that possible.”
The new Super Smash Bros. game does not have a release date, but is confirmed exclusively for Wii U and the 3DS. Are you excited about the customization that will most likely be available in the next Super Smash Bros. game?
