Dark And Edgy Sonic The Hedgehog Film in Development

In accordance with The Tracking Board website, Sonic the Hedgehog might be getting its film titled “Dark and Edgy,” courtesy of Columbia Pictures.

The search has begun for a writer, especially since this film is financed by Original Film and SEGA and it’s geared towards adults.

The following writers are in contention:

• Brad Bird (“Incredibles, “”Wall-E,” “Brave,” “Toy Story 2,” “Up”)
• Wernick & Reese (“Deadpool,” “Monsters Inc,” “Zombieland,” “GI Joe Retaliation”)
• David Berenbaum (“The Spiderwick Chronicles,” “Elf”)
• Phil Johnston (“Wreck it Ralph” and “Nebraska”)
