At this year’s Summer Game Fest edition of Day of the Devs 2024, an event showcasing the greatest forthcoming independent titles, DON’T NOD and Studio Tolima are happy to present Koira. In the wholesome adventure game Koira, players take on the role of a forest spirit who saves a puppy. The game is scheduled for release in 2025, but a playable sample is accessible this summer. They set out on a hand-drawn, musical journey through the center of an enchanted forest together.
The teaser for Koira emphasizes friendship as the central subject, showing tidbits of potential exchanges and adventures the two may have as they get closer. Play fetch, give the puppy food, go through the woodland, and work over obstacles as a team. Along with the musical elements of the game—its stirring soundtrack and singing mechanic, which the spirit may use to arouse the forest and engage with her new friend—you’ll also get to see more of the game’s 2D hand-drawn graphics and animation. Both play crucial roles in this game without language.

Koira is the first game developed by the enthusiastic Belgian developers Studio Tolima and the second third-party title released by DON’T NOD. The chance to present Koira at Day of the Devs excites both the publisher and the developer.
You will take on the role of a woodland ghost in Koira, who hears a dog in need and is attempting to return home. Following their rescue and friendship-building with the defenseless creature, the two set out on a life-changing trip filled with riddles and adventures to discover the true meaning of friendship.
