GRID was announced this year by Deep Silver and Codemasters for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. We played the hands on demo of the game during E3 and had a lot of fun! GRID presents a great challenge to casual players but brings some amazing changes to the game. The biggest thing about GRID is the programming of the AI’s in the game. When I played through the first game it was pretty tough as it needed both control and acceleration at the same time.
The cars have been extremely optimized and the reverse feature is available as well. We did notice that the AI’s are not pre-programmed players. There was a situation where we had a crash happen and I had to reverse the time; through the next run, the racers did not even crash even though I never intercepted with other racers. Same thing happened multiple times. We talked to the developers about it and their main goal was to create a game that is both unpredictable and a challenge for the players. I think GRID has definitely achieved that. GRID brings something new to the professional racing genre and I believe that players will really appreciate this new GRID. We are certainly looking forward to the launch of the game!
GRID launches September 13, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (retail/Steam). For more information, please visit here: http://blog.codemasters.com/category/grid/
