We stopped by at the Kalypso Media booth at E3 2019 and looked through some of the upcoming titles they have. There are going to be 2 HD remastered games of older classics, Commandos 2 – HD remaster and Praetorians – HD remaster.
Commandos 2 is an old classic RTS, set up in world war era. The game is extremely strategic and stealthy. We saw the gameplay video – even though Commandos 2 is in a work in progress stage, it was impressive to see one of the old classics coming back with a remastered version. We saw some stealth mechanics and talked with the developers about the camera angle changes from the original game, which is going to be an improvement in the HD remaster. There is going to be a totally new and modern UI, with 9 unique commandos and 10 missions in 9 different environments. Commandos 2 will have all the skills from climbing on to poles, battles, stealing enemy uniforms, vehicle utilization, and much more.
Commandos 2 HD Remaster is scheduled to launch for PC (Win, Mac, Linux), PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in Q4 2019.
Praetorians on the other hand is an RTS set up in the old Roman era. Praetorians remaster will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. There are going to be battles that will make you utilize the landscapes and terrain to gain the upper hand. Three armies are available – Gauls, Egyptian, and Roman Legions, with over 20 campaign missions. The game we played at E3 2019 was pretty tough and is going to be challenging for players.
The last game we played is Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, which is set up in a fantasy world, where Vampire, the ancient bloodline of Dracul rules over mysterious lands of Warmont. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is an engaging strategy game set in a dark vampire world in turmoil, that combines empire management and turn-based combat with unique card-game elements. The game shows up an overview of the map where we move the troops to a certain area and claim the territory. If the area is not occupied by anyone, the player can claim it, and move on to the next territory. Each move is turn based, as the enemies also move, that we cannot see on the map unless player and enemies are on the tiles next to each other. Once the player heads into battle, the camera heads into the battle area where we have control over the character and army. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars definitely needs a lot of strategy to pull off a victory and that is going to be one of the biggest challenges for the character. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is coming out in Autumn 2019 for PC and Spring 2020 for Consoles.
