First Reveal for Malaysian Video Game Products at GDC Next Week

“We are delighted to show the productivity and power of the Malaysian Games Industry for the first time at GDC,” said Hasnul Hadi Samsudin, Director Creative Multimedia Division at MDeC, “We are happy to present a wide range of mobile and online games and technical solutions from Malaysia.”

Three Malaysian products will be showcased for the first time at GDC, including Jump Smash™ 2015, the newest version of the smash-hit in Asia that has already received over four million downloads, ChemCaper – Petticles in Peril, a first-of-its-kind educational role-playing game and the first public demonstrations of Streamframe, a revolutionary cloud-based production management platform created for game designers. These are just a few of the highlights at the Malaysian Pavilion next week.

Li-Ning Jump Smash™ 2015, by Mediasoft™ Entertainment, is the newest game in the popular series released back in 2013, Jump Smash™, which topped the charts as the world’s number one mobile badminton game. Managing Director of Mediasoft™, Havene Liew comments, “Badminton holds a special place in my heart and home of Malaysia and the Asian region. We’re excited to be launching Li-Ning Jump Smash™ 2015 at this year’s GDC as the start of the next phase in sports gaming in terms of gameplay and animation.”

ChemCaper allows players to explore subjects in a far more relevant and personal way with the interactive and engaging medium of gameplay that features concepts consistent with the approved syllabus of many schools. In short, ChemCaper lets students learn and revise their strategy through play and exploration. Founder and Group CEO of ACE EdVenture Studio, Anne Tham says: “We teach students in the way they want to learn, not the way we as adults think they should learn. Since students are so engrossed in the use of digital media, we decided not to fight them but to meet them there instead. One way of doing that is to replace the content of a role playing game with something that is educational and acceptable to parents.”

Streamline Media Group will be premiering its new cloud-based project management platform, Streamframe. Integrating client management, tasking, collaboration and responsive financial data into a dynamic socially-active platform, Streamframe was originally conceived as the keystone tool in Streamline Media Group’s own production process. “After 10 years of careful pruning, enhancing and augmenting, Streamframe is finally ready for its first public appearance at GDC next week,” said Alexander L. Fernandez, Chief Executive Officer at Streamline Media Group . “It’s a very proud moment for Streamline Media Group, and we can’t wait to share Streamframe’s efficiency and ease with the video game development world”.

GDC attendees are invited to stop by the Malaysian Pavilion when they hit the expo floor, meet experienced game developers and distributors from Malaysia and experience the latest games from one of the biggest markets in Southeast Asia.
