In less than a week (October 11), after its October 8 launch for PlayStation 5 (Check out our 9/10 PS5 review!) and PC via Steam, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) today revealed SILENT HILL 2, the highly anticipated remake of the 2001 psychological horror, has sold a total of 1 million physical retail and digital copies. The SILENT HILL 2 remake, created by Bloober Team, composer Akira Yamaoka, and concept artist Masahiro Ito, was hailed as one of the “must play” games of 2024 by critics worldwide.
Discover the sorrow, remorse, and existential terror of James Sunderland as he visits the town of Silent Hill, a treasured location he once visited with his late wife Mary. The town serves as a metaphorical backdrop that is currently obscured by fog. To give both new and returning players a varied gaming experience, the remake adds new cutscenes, reworks the fighting system, broadens the locations players can explore, and adds an over-the-shoulder viewpoint. What lies within Silent Hill’s shadowy passageways and hallways?
