gamescom 2018: Experience gamescom Live!

gamescom is the global 360 degree event for digital gaming culture and the absolute highlight of the year for all gamers. In 2017, around 355,000 visitors celebrated “THE HEART OF GAMING” in Cologne. This year, gaming fans from around the world who cannot attend gamescom in person can also experience some of the most exciting highlights of the world’s biggest event for computer and video games live. For the start of gamescom on 21 August 2018, “experience gamescom live” will go online and broadcast the opening with world premieres of new games. Live streams, videos, news and all episodes of gamescomTV will be available in a compressed format all in one place. Anyone can put together their own programme from the parallel streams. Starting 21 August 2018, “experience gamescom live” at www.gamescom.global/experience-gamescom-live.

One of the biggest highlights will take place right at the start: On 21 August at 11 am, the opening will be broadcast live on www.gamescom.global. For the first time, international publishers like Ubisoft and THQ Nordic will be presenting world premieres at the gamescom opening. THQ Nordic will be revealing a previously unannounced title based on an already established brand. Fans of DONTNOD’s adventure games are looking forward to the public premiere of the first trailer for LIFE IS STRANGE 2 from Square Enix. Gaming fans all over the world can also expect a new announcement from Koch Media and its Deep Silver publishing label. BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe S.A.S. will use the gamescom opening to announce a completely new game from a European game developer. Another highlight will follow immediately afterwards with the gamescom awards ceremony at 12 pm. The streams of exhibitors will also be available: For the latest games from the entertainment area, go to gamescom.de. The “Debatt(l)e Royale” will also be broadcast live. The event, which will be moderated by YouTube stars Peter Smits (PietSmiet) and Lisa Sophie Laurent, will feature a discussion by Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU), Lars Klingbeil (SPD), Nicola Beer (FDP), Jörg Schindler (Die Linke) and Michael Kellner (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) on the right games policy for Germany. Another highlight of the gamescom live streaming content are the gamescom public keynotes, where top developers of international blockbuster titles give insights into the development process and well-known influencers talk about how they paved their way in the industry. Streams for the cosplay contest and selected programme items from the Red Bull Stage powered by gamescom as well as all episodes of gamescomTV and other insights of the mobile streaming teams are also planned.
