“This year has already seen some high-profile video game releases, but many of the biggest titles of 2015 are yet to come,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop. “There are compelling new titles promising to take full advantage of the new hardware and some of the greatest video game franchises releasing new installments. You’ll see there is something out there for everyone and in every genre.”
This week more than 2,300 GameStop stores stayed open late with launch events celebrating the release of Destiny: The Taken King, Forza Motorsport 6 and NHL 16 available for purchase starting at 12:01 a.m. EDT on September 15.
While in store, shoppers can save 10 percent on any new game priced at $59.99 when trading any PS4 or Xbox One game toward purchases made from the launch event before midnight (good through September 16).
Now through September 21, GameStop is featuring a trade up offer for customers that will earn them $20 credit toward the purchase of Destiny: The Taken King Collector’s or Legendary Editions when trading in a copy of the original Destiny.
NHL 16 is also a perfect example of how customers that trade more, save more. GameStop is offering a guaranteed $30 credit to customers who trade NHL 16 by October 15.
For gaming fans who have been waiting to jump to the next-generation consoles, GameStop has deals that make upgrading more affordable than ever. Now through September 20, customers can trade in a PlayStation 3 (120GB and greater) or Xbox 360 (250GB and greater) and get $100 credit toward the purchase of a new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One system.
