Garbage Pail Kids Return with an Authentic 8-bit Tribute on NES, Console, and PC

iam8bit is thrilled to announce the latest game it’s releasing under the iam8bit Presents publishing label. Retrotainment have worked extra hard to create Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum, an 8-bit game worthy of its admittedly long name that’s available for pre-order today. This isn’t an 8-bit-inspired game; it IS an 8-bit game. Pop the cart into an original NES, and you’re set to play Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum.

In Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum four playable Kids use their time-traveling toilets to platform their way through multiple eras, barfing, puking, and slicing up a slew of creeps from Topps’ gross-out trading cards. Yes, it’s a lot. And we couldn’t be happier about it. Retrotainment has worked its magic here, so be prepared to see the NES pushed a little harder than you may have seen before – the sampled burps and farts are exquisite.

Don’t have an NES? No problem! The incredible team at Digital Eclipse has added lots of bountiful extras to the digital edition, like a virtual museum that showcases the brand’s history, rewinding and save states, and a few other delightful features that make this a modern marvel. The digital edition is launching October 25 on PlayStation 4 (PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility), Xbox One (Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility), Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Physical carts are available for preorder today, shipping in Q1 2023. Don’t worry about the wait; pre-orders come with a complimentary download code for the platform of your choice, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
