The Witcher 3 was a phenomenal open-world game that many have pegged among the best ever open-world games. But, one of the most popular parts of the game was the mini-game Gwent. Creators CD Projekt clearly put a lot of time into Gwent, it was surprisingly deep and complete for an aspect that had little impact on much of the game.
Some saw it as just a card game, but many spent a good chunk of time playing it on Witcher 3, which led to CD Projekt launching a standalone version, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. It has been in public beta testing since May 2017, with an official release penned for 2018, but the creators want it to be perfect before its launch.
Well worth learning the game
Unlike many other mini-games within games, Gwent offered legitimate fun despite having few ties to the overall play of The Witcher 3. But, due to it being a rather unique card game, some people didn’t get as much enjoyment out of it as they could have. Much like at online casinos in Canada, people often stick to what they know and play the easy slot games.
This new Gwent: The Witcher Card Game may bring up some similar problems among video game fans, especially with CD Projekt adding more to the game. Even in its beta form, it looks much better aesthetically and has more game modes, cards, and features.
Transferrable skills for casino gaming
Gwent is very enjoyable once you get used to the rules and nuances of the once mini-game. Taking time to learn the rules will almost certainly result in fun gameplay. This is true for many games that initially look overly complicated.
Take craps, for example. The casino table game always pops up in films and shows where the cast enters into a classy casino, often in Las Vegas, but when you go to play it at an online casino in Canada, it can be overwhelming. However, learning how to play craps unlocks this wildly popular game and all of the rewards it holds.
Providing in-depth tutorials and instructions will be key to the success of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game when it’s officially released. CD Projekt has already stated that the official launch will not come until the game is feature-rich, well tested, and all polished off.
When released, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will surely take the gaming world by storm, especially as it’s a free game. But, much like craps, enjoyment will derive from taking the time to learn this new and seemingly complex game.
