Kickstarter campaign defies the odds with funding target reached within 24 hours
Storytellers Entertainment have defied the odds by hitting the $25k target for its first solo RPG, Imperium Omni, in just 24 hours.
The Kickstarter campaign backed by software specialists and Hollywood special effects experts is based on a novel written by the company’s CEO, Matthew Thomas. It’s the first game out of an exciting quadrilogy from the ambitious entrepreneurs.
Imperium Omni is a fantasy retro game that has been backed by around 500 people globally and raised over 30 thousand dollars. Software expert Matt and Hollywood special effects guru Bill had set the original target to $25,000 and as of today, have already reached $31,643 with 16 more days to go!
The first $35,000 stretch goal allows those creative minds to produce additional content to enhance the existing story, adding more monsters, more treasure, more locales and more fun. With $50,000 in their pockets, the Storytellers team could add the unique Marchland Fields to the game. The Marchland Fields is a key set-piece where new quests begin and where the main storyline in part one of the books starts.
To achieve a Kickstarter goal in just 24 hours is rare. According to recent figures, securing high levels of funding for games on Kickstarter, a platform which aims to “help bring creative projects to life”, is mainly unheard of. In the games category on Kickstarter just over 35% of projects have been successfully funded so far.
Anyone who wishes to support the Imperium Omni crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com can do so here. The novel Imperium Omni: Captain’s Edition is available on Amazon here.
