Killing Floor: Incursion is a heart pounding, action-packed, thrill ride from start to finish. They are not joking when they call it an incursion – this game is a symphony of blood.
Premise:
Killing Floor: Incursion is a game by Tripwire Interactive. It’s a game that drops you into a world full of zeds, where the only way to survive is to fight your way through hordes of zeds while managing through treacherous terrain.
Survival takes skill. Whether you are playing solo or co-op, knowing your surroundings is key to making it out alive. (Reader beware! Survival is not guaranteed beyond this point.
Gameplay:
This game has a straightforward concept – don’t get dead. There are two different modes to play, Holdout mode and Campaign mode. In Holdout mode, you can select single player or co-op and face endless waves of zeds in a desperate attempt to see how long you can last. A bonus in holdout mode is the ability to obtain new weapons and special power ups. As for campaign mode, you wake up in a lab, where you discover that you have been injured and have been placed in a virtual world while your body is being healed.
This virtual world is a basic training simulation to help keep your mind from becoming atrophied. What starts out as a simple simulation quickly spirals out of control. As you progress through the game, you slowly uncover the origins of the zeds. There is no shortage of weapons while you take on impossible foes.
Weapons range from handguns, knives, grenades, shotguns and sniper rifles. Yes, that is right, sniper rifles. And if all else fails, you can pick up a zed body part and just start swinging away.
Between using random zed limbs and finding explosives to shoot at, fighting never gets boring. Don’t take the abundance of weapons for granted. A weapon is only as good as the person wielding it; and if you are not careful, you will find yourself hopelessly surrounded.
Conclusion:
As VR games go, this one is a must have. Between the abundance of kill options, the puzzles to solve before you are overwhelmed by zeds, and the immersive sound design (yes, you should plug in your headphones for this one!),this a world you’ll want to dive into.
