Marvel Rivals competitive mode is quite the ordeal from bad teammates to extremely tough opponents, climbing the competitive ladder will be an ordeal unlike any other for some people. The game will reward players who have the skill, teamwork, and map knowledge are going to have an easier time climbing the ranks all the way up to top 500. Players will need to have the skill to hit their shots, perform callouts and know where health packs are to catch the enemy off guard. An important part in any team-based game is to understand your own weakness and strengths in order to capitalize on them.
How to climb out of bronze and some general rules. One of the best ways to get out of plat is to accommodate for your teammates and figure out how to best exploit the weakness in the enemy team. An example of this would be figuring out that the tanks on the enemy team push up and hold choke points tightly, a “Moon Knight” will be able to exploit their positioning and deal chip damage to the other tank if the person playing hits their shots. Another key factor in getting out of bronze is to stay calm and not get too tilted when playing as it will negatively impact your decision making. Instead, hard focus one person on the enemy team especially the weakest link, for instance a tank always out of position, a dps over extending, or a support in a bad position. This will most likely force the enemy to play in an awkward position and make it a lot easier for your team to win the team fight.
This game while chaotic and is still balanced and showcase such a unique take on power balance. Moreover, this game is based around counters so certain characters are more susceptible to the attacks of others. The clarity of who counters who can be quite easily seen when experiencing the game. Those who have played Team Fortress 2, and to some extent Overwatch will be more likely to grasp these concepts a lot more easily as opposed to those who are brand new to the team-oriented hero shooter genre. To elaborate further on how counters work, a simple explanation is to look at the game Rock, Paper, Scissors where rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, and paper beats rock. Each one can either beat or lose each interaction. Furthermore, when viewing it through the lens of a game like Marvel Rivals its easier to comprehend that some characters will be more likely to be beaten by someone else and vice versa. This is all excluding the player’s skill, of course, but if player skill is to be included it can vary how the fight will go through as some interactions can be turned upside down on their head due to skill gaps. However, this gap in skill can be offset in a 1v1 by involving other players turning the tides of battle from 1v1 to a 1v3. This allows for a change in the tide of battle allowing teams to push for victory due to the mistake of the enemy.
