MAVS GAMING to Compete in THE TURN Powered by AT&T for a $260,000 Prize Pool

MavsGG will kick off tournament play against the winner of Lakers Gaming vs. Grizz Gaming

DALLAS, TX – Mavs Gaming will compete remotely in THE TURN on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m. CST to battle for the tournament’s largest prize pool ever, $260,000. For its first game, MavsGG is set to play the winner of Lakers Gaming vs. Grizz Gaming. Games will be livestreamed on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch channel, as well as select matches airing on ESPN’s digital platforms and the NBA 2K League’s YouTube channel.

THE TURN, powered by AT&T, is one of three in-season tournaments (THE TIPOFF, THE TURN and THE TICKET) in which teams compete for banners that link together to form THE BANNER CHAIN powered by AT&T and prize money. The single-elimination tournament will occur over a span of four days (Wednesday, July 22 – Saturday, July 25) and matches will be played in a best-of-three series. The winner of each match will advance to the next round.

“We have something to prove,” Mavs Gaming’s Dimez (Artreyo Boyd) said. “It’s time to bring a banner to Dallas!”

New this year, the League changed the “Archetype Ban” concept for THE TURN. Now, up to six archetypes can be banned in a three-game series, and each ban will impact both teams. More information on NBA 2K League archetypes can be found here. All 23 of the NBA 2K League teams will compete in the tournament.
