MidBoss Hosts Queer Streaming Celebration Summer of Pride June 2019
SAN FRANCISCOSummer of Pride, a months-long streaming celebration of LGBTQIA+ games, developers, and streamers, will kick off the festivities in June 2019 with various streams hosted on the MidBoss Twitch channel.
 
Presented by MidBoss, developer of the cyberpunk adventure with inclusivity themes 2064: Read Only Memories, Summer of Pride will promote games featuring positive representation of marginalized perspectives and the diverse developers who created them. These works of art will share the spotlight with queer, female, and PoC (persons of color) streamers who embody the spectrum of viewpoints presented.
 
Gone HomeTacoma, 2064: Read Only MemoriesAnother Lost PhoneDominique Pamplemousse, and Even The Ocean are among the many games curated for inclusion. Genres range from intimate narrative journeys to stop motion detective mysteries, each providing insight into what it means to be part of a marginalized group thoughtfully and respectfully.
 
“We don’t just make LGBTQIA+ games and media. MidBoss now, as a business mission, aims to promote and support diverse games and their developers in every way possible,” said Cade Peterson, interim CEO, MidBoss. “By partnering with streamers from across the gender, sexuality, and PoC spectrums, we’re also highlighting talented individuals who want to generate discourse about these topics by engaging with representative games for their audiences.”
 
A full list of games, streamers, and the schedule will be available closer to the start of Summer of Pride. Members of the press and streamers interested in getting involved with the event should.
