Nintendo has revealed that it’s working on the next Super Mario game, but refuses to acknowledge whether or not it will release on the 3DS or Wii U.
In an interview with EDGE, Nintendo Producer, Yoshiaki Koizumi, announced that they have already started work on the new Super Mario, but when asked which platform it’s for, he stated,
That’s still a secret! I can tell you, though, that we’ve already started approaching our next challenge. There’s still a lot more room for discovery and invention, and we’ll continue to propose new and exciting game mechanics going into the future.
In addition, 3D World co-director and EAD Tokyo team leader Kenta Motokura revealed that if the game was to arrive on the Wii U, he and his staff would “need to utilize the Wii U GamePad even more effectively than before.”
And, in case you missed it, take a look at yesterday’s Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct video and details here.
