Nintendo has confirmed its GDC 2014 lineup of games and presentations.
Aside from a focus on the free Unity Pro license that’s available on Wii U, the Nintendo Web Framework will also be shown off — that support is now contributing games such as BLOK DROP U, and a demo at the Nintendo booth will use elements from the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series to highlight the ease with which the framework can be used.
The Nintendo booth at GDC will also have the following Wii U games playable, all of which use Unity.
- Armillo by Fuzzy Wuzzy Games
- Ballpoint Universe: Infinite by Arachnid Games
- Cubemen 2 by Nnooo
- Ittle Dew by Ludosity AB
- Monkey Pirates by Henchmen Studio
- Nihilumbra by BeautiFun Games
- Stick It to the Man by Zoink & Ripstone
- Teslagrad by Rain Games
- Wooden Sen’SeY by Neko Entertainment
Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s VP of Licensing, said the following about Nintendo’s attendance at GDC,
“We want to demonstrate to developers how easy it is for them to bring their creative ideas to Nintendo systems. Nintendo offers wide-ranging support for indie developers, whether they want to use NWF, Unity or their own proprietary code.”
In addition, a presentation by Dan Adelman, Manager of Business Development will be at the Unity booth (number 1402) on Thursday, 20th March from 10:45 to 11:15 Pacific time, and will provide a step-by-step guide on the processes for bringing games to the eShop. Aside from a focus on the free Unity Pro license that’s available on Wii U, the Nintendo Web Framework will also be shown off.
