orbit.industries Demo Impressions for Steam

orbit.industries is a single player realistic simulator, by developer LAB132 and publisher Klabater, allowing players to build and manage their very own space station. The game was announced this past year and is quite unique, as it allows players to try new things that have never been done before. This strategical and realistic simulator truly lets anyone get a taste of what it would be like to build and manage a space system.

Throughout the Steam marketplace, there are plenty of simulator games that allow one to build PCs, work jobs, drive cars, etc. I have played some in the past, such as The Bus, which allowed players to simulate life as a bus driver. However, orbit.industries is frankly something that appears to have never been done before. Building an entire space station and managing it is something that many have thought they were never going to do and this game gives them a chance to do so. The game has so much detail put into it. Managing an entire space station as well as building it sounds difficult, and in orbit.industries, it is. The amount of small details and tasks that need to be done is both tedious and exciting.

At times, there can be 10 things going on at the same time, and players need to know how to both manage and succeed when completing quests or missions. The missions themselves are pretty challenging, and they can build up quickly if not done on time. The missions given to players allow for them to complete different goals which will eventually help their overall space station grow and succeed. Speaking of space stations, building the stations was the best part of orbit.industries. The amount of detail that went into each part of the stations was very realistic, and it felt very authentic.

The graphics for orbit.industries were also pretty stunning, especially with how new the game is. I think the added quality of the graphics helped increase authenticity.

Keeping in mind that this is a demo run, there were some downsides to the game. While space is very complicated, sometimes the game felt too hard. The number of different things going on at the same time while playing was a major downside in the overall enjoyment. To a new player, orbit.industries can become overwhelming very fast, and I believe that slowing down the overall complexity of the game would be better.

Besides that, I enjoyed playing the orbit.industries demo. This simulator was very fun to try, and I am very excited for what it has in store for us. If you are into simulators and want to try something new or enjoy space in general keep your eye out for this game.
