Pode is a puzzle-platformer by developer/publisher Henchman & Goon. In it, you play as a ball of light and a rock trying to reach the top of a mountain.
Aside from the typical jumping on platforms and switches, the 2 characters also possess another ability. Each one can generate a force field that can interact with the environment in some way. The ball of light can cause plants to grow while the rock character can make crystals increase in size. While some of these interactions are used for the purpose of puzzles, most of them simply change the way the level looks.
While some of the puzzles are confusing, most of them are fairly straight-forward. The rock character weighs more than the ball of light, something which occasionally comes up in puzzles. It mostly comes up in puzzles which require a switch or a spring to be weighed down
Pode is relatively short also. It can be completed in about 9 hours, although videos on the internet show people completing it in about 3 hours. About 1-2 hours into the game, the rock character gains the ability to pick up boxes in order to move them around and the ball of light gains the ability to teleport.
Overall, I enjoyed my time with Pode, though it didn’t have many new ideas. As such, I think a fair rating for it is 7.5/10.
