Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Review for PlayStation

I have been playing many simulator games all my life and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, by astragon Entertainment, in collaboration with developer studio Aesir Interactive, is something I had always expected to play since my early teenage years. I played this game for about 10 hours to fully know the mechanics. There is no plot or story in this game, not even a small one. The game is as it sounds like, you are a police officer on his/her first day. You start out with basic things like parking tickets and citing for Jaywalking, and then work your way up to solve accident cases. The way you go up in rank is by earning stars. The more work you do, the more shifts you take, and the more calls you take is the way you get stars. The stars are then used to unlock different areas, equipment, and responsibility.

The graphics are better than most simulator games but there aren’t many details in the texture. The draw distance is not much, there are a lot of blurry objects and a ton of bugs. This game is buggy and it started to get fun once I saw a few funny ones. The physics of the game is also something they could have worked on. Driving feels really unnatural, and you can’t sprint. The walk mode feels weird to look at and the running mode is like a slow jog. The isn’t much to talk about the soundtrack.

Being a Police officer doesn’t mean you get to do everything you want. There are a lot of rules you need to follow which gets boring. You lose starts if you stop or cite someone without a cause. You can use radar guns, stun guns, and regula guns. You also have a camera and a car. The beginning few hours are super slow as you don’t have much to do except cite parking tickets, but once you earn enough stars and unlock other equipment, it gets a little more fun. But overall, it is a very slow game.

There are also a lot of good sides to Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. The developers made this game as a detailed simulator, you can do a lot of activities as a police officer. There are things I didn’t expect like you can have someone breathe into a breathalyzer or search their car for drugs and illegal weapons. Randomly check IDs to see if their ID is expired, stolen, or fake. You can search the car, not just from the front but you would have to go to all the doors to have a complete search. You can also search the suspect and arrest them for drugs or drunk driving or carrying illegal weapons. There is a lot more you can do in this game as the list goes on.

In addition, you can now drive the Urban Terrain Vehicle (new DLC) as your new police SUV, which allows you to arrest up to four individuals at the same time.

I love single player story mode games with beautiful open worlds. Games like Red Dead Redemption, GTA series, Uncharted series, Far Cry series, Assassin's Creed series, etc., are some of the best games I have ever played. I love to play a game that has immersive worlds to explore and interesting story line.
