In the thrilling new deckbuilding roguelike Ruff Ghanor from DX Gameworks and Jovem Nerd’s world of Ghanor, you can wield the power of the entire world in the palm of your hand and set your people free from oppression. One of the most well-known and well-liked multimedia centers in Brazil is Jovem Nerd, and Ruff Ghanor is the first of their globally recognized worlds to make the transition to video games.
Ruff Ghanor is the story of the title character, a cleric sent on a quest to free his people from the terrifying dragon Zamir and his despotic tyranny. However, the might of a cleric by themselves will not suffice. Ruff looks to the power of cards for assistance, as they contain all of the magic in the world as well as the ingredients for strong defenses and potent weaponry.

Thoughts of “another roguelike deckbuilder” may cross your mind, but this one is unique. With a twist that will surprise you, Ruff Ghanor skillfully combines creative turn-based combat with astute deckbuilding that rewards strategic thought and narrative events reminiscent of your favorite tabletop role-playing games. Ruff is faced with decisions that call for skill checks and tough choices. You pass the check based on how your current deck is arranged, and your decisions influence the benefits you receive. Yes, selecting the simple option that only requires two magic cards may seem safe, but you never know if the result will work out in your favor in the end.
Ruff Ghanor’s distinct character stems from his meticulous approach to balancing risk and reward, his construction of decks and alliances, and his reliance only on hope when making decisions.
Ruff Ghanor is playable now for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch version is coming April 10th.
