Square Enix has closed down its gaming streaming service, Core Online.
In a short statement on its website, Square Enix stated that,
“Core®Online was released as an experiment to see what demand there would be for HD games played via the browser. However, due to limited commercial take-up of this initiative, Core®Online closed on Friday 29th November 2013.”
Core Online has enabled players to stream HD editions of games such as Hitman: Blood Money, Tomb Raider: Underworld, and Mini Ninjas in their browsers for a monthly $2.99 fee, or for free for 20 minutes per day.
