Super Cane Magic Zero Review for Nintendo Switch

With the magical high wizard of the world gone and his magic dog out of control, it’s up to an unlikely prisoner to save the day. Your job is to gather random items as armor and blow up obstacles in your path. In the world of WOTF, it’s up to you and your friends to save the day in this comical role playing game.

Super Cane Magic Zero is developed by Studio Evil and produced by Intragames. Studio Evil is an Italian gaming company founded in 2011. They specialize in side scroller video games and virtual reality experience. Intragames is a Korean based company in Seoul, South Korea. They mostly focus on role playing games.

I always love a good role playing game. They are my favorite category of game. In addition, I really enjoy games with a great sense of humor. The art style reminds me of the comic, Cyanide and Happiness. It has subtle humor that will give you a good laugh and funny quips during load screens to keep your attention. To start off, you play Dude, a pretty regular guy in prison for some reason when all hell breaks loose and it is your job to escape and try to defeat the Wizard’s magical dog from throwing the world into chaos.  What a crazy plot line for a game! There are several ways to do this. Single player or cooperatively with up to four friends. There is also a mode of multiplayer online battles. You are also able to switch characters along the way with different abilities.

One of the things I really enjoyed about this game is that there are many solutions to completing objectives and progressing along the story line. In this day and age, people are encouraged to celebrate our individualities and I find it amazing that it can be brought to the gaming world as well. Every gamer has their own way of playing and Super Cane Magic Zero uses that mechanic to its advantage which allows the replay value to increase over time.

An issue I had with the game is that it can be way too random at times. Yes, the idea of completely random circumstances can be thrilling, I feel it takes away from a main goal to the game. Normally, I forget things about a game when I set it down. So if I’m asked to quickly describe this game, all that comes to mind is Crazy or ridiculous because there is so much going on all the time within the world of WOTF. While I find the randomness endearing and light hearted, it can cause confusion in explanation of the story.

I definitely recommend Super Cane Magic Zero to all sorts of gamers. It really captures many types of minds from MMO fans to puzzle gamers and is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. If you want a good laugh or need to relax from the stress of the work day then Super Cane Magic Zero is a game for you! I can say from experience that a good chuckle is the best medicine for a stressful day and what better way to get that laugh than from a good, old fashion role playing game.
