The Last Cube, developed and published by Improx games, delves into the three dimensional puzzle genre with the use of a cube. Many people will be familiar with this premise with games that followed a similar premise, however, The Last Cube expands on that in innovative ways that separate it.
While the gameplay can be similar to others in this genre with the cube as you roll around on the stages, there is much that takes this puzzle game to the next level. Most notably, The Last Cube has stickers that attach to the cube that add much to the game and added super abilities to the cube. One example of this when I played was the use of teleportation and dashing that add a whole new element to stages. While the rest of the game is about changing the orientation of the cube by using the bottom to activate bridges or even lifts to continue through a stage. Even the side of the cube will allow the player to move other cubes to go into other areas that your cube can’t get into. All of these elements expressed add more than enough to a genre that made it intriguing.
The Last Cube takes it to another level compared to other games in this genre when it comes to the visuals. With the neon cyber feel to the game that makes it pleasing to play in. The animations even take it to another notch when using the abilities that make it appealing to use. The overall flow of the game made it a joy to play with the demo stages I played.
Overall, The Last Cube was an enjoyable experience in the sections I played with the demo. I feel it has the ability to become a great 3D puzzle cube game that adds enough intriguing elements that separate it from the rest. I am looking forward to how the developers, Improx Games, add onto the already polished and pleasurable experience they have.

Gaming has always been an outlet for me to interact with different people and explore all kinds of possibilities. I play a wide variety of games always willing to try different mechanics and storylines that developers are trying to create for their games. I grew up delving into MW2 and World of Warcraft, I miss the Wrath of The Lich King days, and as I have gotten older I have found a love for RPGs and strategy games, my favorites being The Witcher 3 and Total War. Always looking forward to the next great game.
