The Outer Worlds developer, Obsidian Entertainment along with publisher Private Division, is back with another and an exciting DLC for the game called Murder on Eridanos. This is another detective DLC, which brings a lot of good items to the game.
Just like Peril on Gorgon DLC (Check Out Our Review!), this quest can be added right from the Unreliable, which brings a murder case Halcyon’s famous celebrity actress, Halcyon Helen (her on-screen name). We didn’t get to see much of the show but we know who Halcyon Helen (Ruth Bellamy) is, which brings us to Eridanos, another location added to the game for the DLC that has a good amount of exploration and some detective vibes.
There aren’t many skill changes but it did feel like the amount of time I was away, the game has been balancing a lot to improve the skill. I had to completely change my play style with the minimum recommended requirements for the DLC quests for Lvl 30+. I did have to go on some questing journeys from the main story to hit level 30 and also change my skills/attributes to line up with Dialogue/Stealth/Leadership skills, which gives a good balance to play the quest line.
Eridanos has about 5 different areas with a central area connected to floating islands via bridges. The view is amazing and crazy at the same time how Obsidian came up with the eco-system of Eridanos. There are not many new categories of enemies but the DLC does have a great number of new NPCs that allows you to go on a detective journey by using a new tool that allows you to find and analyze the anomalies that help in solving the case.
There are different quests that you have to go through to identify all the suspects and then final few missions to go through the conclusion of the quest line. The story is an amazing hay ride and also graphically, Eridanos is stunning and gives us some amazing amount of improvement over the initial release.
Overall, Murder on Eridanos is a great story and addition to the game itself even though there is not much of challenge to the game or any new enemy types; but no matter, the story will keep players captivated with the game. I would definitely suggest all the base players to give the DLC a try and if you have never played this game, there is nothing better than to pick up with the new upgraded frame rate unlock for newer consoles. I would rate Murder on Eridanos 8.5 stars out of 10.
