The TEARDOWN Online Multiplayer Update Heading to Steam March 12

The long-awaited online multiplayer update for the award-winning destructible heist game Teardown, developed and published by Tuxedo Labs, will be available to all players for PC via Steam on March 12. With the biggest free update since Teardown’s debut, players can now heist together in the original base game’s campaign in cooperative mode, compete in hundreds of multiplayer game modes created by developers and the community, and customize a wide range of maps, weapons, and other elements with Teardown’s extensive collection of modding tools!

Check out the Teardown Multiplayer Trailer:

Up to 12 players will be able to experience Teardown’s completely destructible world together thanks to the online multiplayer update, one of the community’s most requested features! Engage in cooperative gameplay of the base game’s story, play multiplayer classics like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, collaborate creatively (or destructively) in Sandbox Mode, and investigate the constantly expanding collection of community mods tailored specifically for multiplayer games. The possibilities are practically endless with the full library of community-made maps on the other end of your sledgehammer, two brand-new, dual-sided arenas, and the complete base game’s map collection!

In order to further enhance the Teardown experience through the in-game mod library, this update will also provide multiplayer capability to the Teardown API, allowing developers to create new cooperative and competitive game modes, maps, tools, and more. The modding community has already released hundreds of multiplayer-specific mods, including competitive game modes like Battle Royale, The Floor Is Lava, and Prop Hunt, during several pre-launch playtests.

The Steam update for online multiplayer on March 12 is only the first step! Later this year, the multiplayer upgrade should be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the meantime, the team intends to create a brand-new, intense multiplayer racing experience for Teardown.

Teardown’s realistic physics and fully destructible, voxel-simulated world provide players complete freedom to find original and emergent gameplay solutions to nearly any difficulty. The game has won numerous accolades, including Excellence in Design at the Independent Games Festival. With a growing collection of tools, cars, and whatever else you can find, you may plan and execute the ideal heists almost any way you can imagine.
