Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.4 Key Features:
- Grind Stormer – ‘V・V’, also known as Grind Stormer, is a shooter that scrolls vertically and features stunning pixel art graphics and a lively FM soundtrack. A brilliant early example of a furious shooter and a forerunner to the ‘bullet hell’ shoot ’em up genre that is so famous today, the game was created by an all-star team at Toaplan. Known as V・V (pronounced V Five) in Japanese, this game incorporates a configurable power-up system with gauges, offering a strategic gameplay element where using the right weapon for each stage and enemy encounter is crucial to victory.
- Twin Hawk – In this Toaplan vertical arcade shooter with a military theme, battle against formidable tanks and battleships! Call in ally combatants to avert crises and bolster weaponry. In this vertical scrolling shooter, players must summon a formation of six ally warriors to help them repel the approaching army and navy barrages. While strategy is the essential to success in Twin Hawk, the task really gets tougher after you conquer the last stage and go into Round Two of the war, where the complexity increases with each game loop! The game Daisenpu (Great Whirlwind), as it is known in Japanese, is a game that will finally hit you hard and never let go!
- Truxton II – Truxton II, the follow-up to Toaplan’s legendary shoot ’em up, is an intensely tough but entertaining space action game. As you take on challenging bosses and avoid the fast-moving shower of bullets, take pleasure in the visually amazing pixel graphics and lively music. The addition of an easy option and the addition of contemporary features like rewind and quick save, which allow players a fighting chance to go through the rapid rain of bullets and challenging enemies, should console casual people who dare to play Truxton II.
- Dogyuun – a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up game with a science fiction theme that is renowned for its terrifying difficulty, enormous bosses, and exquisitely detailed pixel visuals. Dogyuun, perhaps the greatest rock ‘n’ roll shooting game ever made, with an enormous variety of enemies that will test even the most seasoned shmup players. Under the creative direction of Hayashi Miho and Koetsu Iwabuchi, Dogyuun is a visual spectacle of exquisite pixel art graphics and intricate animation, and it also represents manga artist Junya Inoue’s graphic artist debut.
