Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition has been officially announced at the VGX 2013 Awards.
Joined in the studio were Camilla Luddington (voice of Lara Craft) and Scot Amos, Crystal Dynamics Executive Producer of Tomb Raider.
Amos, discussed about the awesome technology that was used to take the game into next-gen. For example, Lara Croft’s hair looks real and her entire face was redone. In addition, the developer was able to add rustling leaves and trees moving in the wind giving the game a more realistic look.
When asked if Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition plays any differently on next gen consoles, Amos replied that the visual story telling was a main focus. Instead of breaking up the already successful game, Crystal Dynamics concentrated on how to make the next-gen version “more immersive” in a way that couldn’t be experienced before.
When asked if the game will have a 3D option, Amos replied that not at this time.
Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 at the end of January 28, 2014.
