Las Vegas, NV – Rogue, Las Vegas’ professional eSports organization, is proud to announce Rogue athlete and top Fortnite streamer, Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo has broken several fundraising records as a part of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PLAY LIVE campaign. With a total of $659,300 raised for St. Jude this year, DrLupo has broken the St. Jude PLAY LIVE records for largest donation per hour rate, most raised by a single fundraiser in a calendar year and most cumulatively raised by a single fundraiser.
DrLupo hosted a four-hour stream as a part of a week-long, 24-hour charity stream conducted by GuardianCon the week leading up to GuardianCon 2018 in Tampa, FL on July 11. His stream raised more than $356,000 in four hours, and GuardianCon has raised more than $2.7M for St. Jude in 2018. More than 80,000 viewers watched his stream as he played Fortnite with his two-year-old son, Charlie, on his lap. Those who donated were offered incentives including raffle tickets, a chance to play Fortnite with DrLupo at a later date, and the ability to interact with DrLupo mid-stream by making him undertake challenges like dropping all of his weapons or building materials.
“Giving back has been a huge part of who I am on Twitch ever since I started streaming,” said Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo. “Any opportunity I have to promote helping the greater good is something that I enjoy being a part of. One of the best parts of being a streamer is seeing communities of people form and working with those communities to help benefit others and leave a legacy of positivity.”
Charitable causes have been a large part of DrLupo’s Twitch streams, with him commonly teaming up with other personalities like well-known streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins to raise money for a variety of charitable organizations.
