WHEN THE SHUTTER STOPS Visual Novel Needs Your Support on Kickstarter

When the Shutter Stops by Remort Studios is looking for your support on Kickstarter. The visual novvel is a story is told through the perspective of a brazen, sassy girl detective who grows into an adult in the full version of the game. It’s a mix between a visual novel and a point and click adventure game, in a similar vein as the Ace Attorney games. The heroine will be challenged to retrace her steps of the investigation she started as a child and discover the truth behind it and the incident that ended her career as a kid detective. She has the option of working with a few different colorful partners, each of which has their own platonic and romance arcs, as well as strengths and weaknesses during the gameplay segments.

The main three sources of interaction throughout the game are:

• Investigations, which involve searching a scene for information or interacting with the environment in some other way
• Interrogations, which are twisting and branching dialogue interactions with suspects, victims, and witnesses
• Standard visual novel choices

Combined, these three modes of interaction help shape the user’s experience, the story, and outcome of the game.
