Accompany nimble cybercriminal Emi “Yar” Kimura as she reveals a profound mystery and her astounding connection to a mysterious extraterrestrial species. Emi finds that she has more on her plate than she anticipated when she is kidnapped and held captive within the massive QoTech corporation headquarters, following her hiring by an enigmatic organization to conduct an infiltration of the company.
With the help of Emi’s group of diverse pals, work your way through a variety of obstacles, riddles, and boss battles to discover what QoTech has been hiding for so long, including potent biohacks that might potentially change Emi’s entire life.

Otherworldly Abilities: Emi has to dodge waves of robotic and extraterrestrial foes by leaping, blasting, and sneaking. As she advances, her hidden abilities come to light, giving her wild augments and biohacks to enter previously unreachable locations.

Stealth Traversal: Emi must expertly slip into the shadows to hide from persistent security bots throughout suspenseful stealth gameplay segments because she can’t always shoot or jump her way out of a sticky situation.

Sci-fi Intrigue: In her quest to learn the sinister truth about the QoTech organization, Emi travels from dull office buildings to subterranean laboratories and even to the furthest regions of space thanks to an apparently endless mystery. Playing on a large, connected map is possible for many hours.

Genre Mix: Fundamentally a metroidvania, Yars Rising advances the plot with additional boss battles and levels that take Emi well beyond her “normal” adventure, such as fight sequences and turn-based combat, in addition to a number of hacking minigames that pay homage to the original Yars’ Revenge.
